Amidst all the buzz, we see the sports drama 83 hitting the screens. The film did well on the first day and as per estimate the film stood second after the cop drama Sooryavanshi. Although it is a no-nonsense film, we see many more people coming ahead to score well at the box office. Yet, it did not beat the Akshay Kumar masala movie. Its ironic that good films lag behind and masala movies like the said cop drama had to lose an edge. Yet the figure seemed impressive.
The occupancy for the film seems to be 25 to 30 in the first and second half of the day, However, as the dusk entered the winter Christmas Eve, people were seen turning up giving a decent footfall to the theaters, The reviews were good and Friday being working did keep the footfall on the higher note. Nevertheless, it seemed to end on a decent note. As per reports, the 1st day box office collection for 83 was around 18.22 Crores, which is actually a decent amount.
The reviews have been excellent and both critics along with the audience applauded the efforts. Kabir Khan has felt proud in a big way as he was able to gain a good response. Saturday being a holiday we can see a good surge for sure in the coming days, gaining not less than 25 to 30 crores for sure. Similar is going to be the story of Sunday and it is expected to do well during the weekdays. Thus with 4 to 5 days of the film on the screen, we can expect the sports drama to enter into the 100 Crores club.
