In February 2024, Aamir Khan will be taking on both acting and production responsibilities. He is set to star in Sitare Zameen Par, the Hindi remake of the Spanish film Campeones, directed by RS Prasanna. At the same time, Khan is producing Lahore 1947, a historical film featuring Sunny Deol and directed by the esteemed Rajkumar Santoshi.
The filming for Sitare Zameen Par will begin on February 2. According to a report from Pinkvilla, a source revealed that Aamir has been preparing for the film over the past few months and is ready to start filming on February 2. He has finalized his look for the film and has had several reading sessions with the ensemble cast. It will be an extensive shooting schedule for Sitare Zameen Par, with Aamir allocating 70 to 80 working days for the film. With significant time invested in pre-production, this film is expected to be one of the fastest projects delivered by Aamir to the audience.
In the upcoming Hindi remake, set in Punjab, Aamir Khan will play the role of a determined minor league basketball coach who is sentenced to community service. His task is to coach a Special Olympics team comprising individuals with diverse learning disabilities. Through this journey, Khan’s character undergoes a transformation. The adaptation, crafted by RS Prasanna, skillfully incorporates Indian sensibilities into the narrative, drawing inspiration from real stories of developmentally challenged players. Aamir Khan is also producing Lahore 1947 under his banner Aamir Khan Productions. The film stars Sunny Deol and is directed by Rajkumar Santoshi. Additionally, this film marks the reunion of Aamir Khan and Rajkumar Santoshi after their iconic cult classic, Andaz Apna Apna. According to the report, filming for Lahore 1947 will begin on February 12, 2024.
