Ajay Devgn and Rakul Preet Singh Start Filming ‘De De Pyaar De 2’; Anil Kapoor Gives First Clap at Mahurat Puja
The much-anticipated sequel to the 2019 hit film “De De Pyaar De” has now officially kicked off its filming in Mumbai. The exciting news was confirmed by Bollywood Hungama, revealing that the production team commenced shooting with a traditional Mahurat Puja ceremony. To add a special touch to the event, veteran actor Anil Kapoor graced the occasion and gave the ceremonial first clap, marking the beginning of this highly awaited project. Titled “De De Pyaar De 2,” the film will be directed by Anshul Sharma, who brings a fresh perspective to the franchise compared to the first installment, which was helmed by Akiv Ali. The production duties for the sequel are being shared by the powerhouse combination of T-Series’ Bhushan Kumar and Krishan Kumar, along with Luv Films’ Luv Ranjan and Ankur Garg.
With such experienced and talented individuals backing the project, expectations are high for another entertaining and successful film. The original “De De Pyaar De” starred Ajay Devgn, Rakul Preet Singh, and Tabu in prominent roles, delivering an unconventional love story that struck a chord with the audience. Devgn portrayed a man in his 50s who falls in love with a woman in her 20s, played by Singh, while Tabu essayed the role of Devgn’s ex-wife, adding an intriguing layer of complexity to the narrative. While it has not been officially confirmed, there are rumors suggesting that Tabu might reprise her role in the sequel, which would undoubtedly be a treat for the fans.
In addition to “De De Pyaar De,” Anil Kapoor and Ajay Devgn have previously shared the screen in the 2019 comedy film “Total Dhamaal,” showcasing their impeccable chemistry and comedic timing. “De De Pyaar De 2” is currently scheduled for release on May 1, 2025, strategically placing it between Maharashtra Day and International Workers’ Day, aiming to captivate the audience during the festive season.
