Animal Heads to Netflix: Ranbir Kapoor and Rashmika Mandanna Starrer Set for OTT Premiere – Release Date Revealed
For those who missed the opportunity to experience the Ranbir Kapoor and Rashmika Mandanna-led film “Animal” on the big screen, the wait is over as it arrives on OTT. The Sandeep Reddy Vanga directorial is set to premiere on the streaming platform Netflix on Thursday, January 26.
Netflix’s official handle on X announced, “The air is dense and the temperature is rising. Witness his wild rage in Animal, streaming from 26 January on Netflix in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada.” Shortly after the announcement, numerous eager viewers expressed their anticipation.
One X user wrote, “I’m waiting for this movie,” while another added, “Salute the champion. Make way for the biggest movie of the year.” Another user exclaimed, “Extended cut or Theatrical.”
The OTT release of Animal came as a surprise following a reported dispute between the co-producers, CINE 1 Studios Private Limited and T Series. The co-producers were entangled in an alleged contractual breach, which was brought to the attention of the Delhi High Court. Subsequently, the resolution of the dispute has paved the way for the film’s OTT release.
While viewers had hoped for an extended cut of the film on OTT, it has been revealed that there will be no additional scenes, as reported by India Today. Previously, Netflix had released an extended cut of Shah Rukh Khan-starrer “Jawan,” while other OTT platforms such as Disney Plus Hotstar had offered a similar version of Ranbir Kapoor’s “Brahmastra Part One: Shiva.”
In addition to Ranbir Kapoor and Rashmika Mandanna, “Animal” features an ensemble cast including Anil Kapoor, Bobby Deol, and Triptii Dimri in significant roles. The film delves into the intricacies of a complex relationship between a father and a son.
“Animal” made its worldwide theatrical debut on December 1, 2023, receiving a strong response from viewers and achieving remarkable success at the box office.
