Dilip Kumar’s Iconic bungalow to be history now, Check how?
The iconic bungalow of late actor Dilip Kumar in Mumbai’s Pali Hill area is all set to undergo a huge transformation. The late actor’s family has given their nod to convert the place into a museum to commemorate the superstar’s legendary life and his achievements, and a luxurious residential project on the plot.
The museum will be spread over 2,000 square feet and will showcase Dilip Kumar’s life and career through photographs, memorabilia, and personal belongings. The residential project will have a total of 15 boutique residences, each of which will be spread over 3,000-7,000 square feet. The project is expected to be completed in 2027.
The decision to transform the bungalow into a museum and residential project has been met with mixed reactions. Some people have welcomed the move, saying that it will preserve Dilip Kumar’s legacy and provide much-needed housing in the area. Others have expressed regret that the bungalow will be demolished, as it is a reminder of the actor’s life and work.
However, The plot had been embroiled in a legal dispute for many years, as Dilip Kumar’s family had accused a real estate firm of forging documents with the intention to take over the property. However, after a long and exhausting legal battle, Dilip Kumar’s wife Saira Banu won the case in 2017 and regained possession of the property.
Ultimately, the decision to transform the bungalow is a personal one for the family. However, it is clear that the project will have a significant impact on the Pali Hill area. The plot of land where Dilip Kumar’s bungalow once stood is now being developed into a museum and a residential tower. The two structures will have separate entrances, and the residential tower will have a total construction area of 1.75 lakh square feet spread over 11 floors. The project is expected to generate revenue of over Rs 900 crore.
