As Child Artist
Haasan started his career as a child artist. He appeared on the film screen for the first time at the age of around three and a half years. His film Kalathur Kannamma as a child artist also won the President’s Award.
Bollywood debut with Ek Duuje Ke Liye
He made his Tamil debut with Balachandra’s film. Balachandra is considered to be an important contributor to his success. Not only this, director Balachandra trained Kamal Haasan for films, then he shone in the film world. After this Kamal Haasan acted in several superhit films with Balachandra. After leaving his mark in the Tamil film industry, Kamal Haasan turned to Bollywood. He started his Bollywood career with the film Ek Duuje Ke Liye. He also appeared in Bollywood in superhit films like Sadma, Chachi 420, Sagar.
Four National Awards, 19 Filmfare

Kamal Haasan’s dream of becoming an actor was not his own but his father’s. Therefore, at the age of only 6, he made his acting debut. Actually, Kamal Haasan’s father was a freedom fighter and well-known lawyer. He always wanted one of his three children to become an actor.
Now Kamal is very active in Tamil Nadu politics. He formed a political party called Makkal Needhi Maiam in February 2018. His party also contested the 2019 Lok Sabha elections in Tamil Nadu, although his party could not win any seats. Recently, Kamal Haasan announced that he will contest the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly in 2021.
