It’s been two decades since the film Hera Pheri hit the screens. It was not a big commercial hit on the box office. However, it gained a decent popularity which made the makers embark with the sequel of the film called Phir Hera Pheri, and it was a big hit at the box office. The film kept on in discussion one after the other. After a long gap it is back in the news in the media and the makers then planned to make the third part. However, it seems that they have kept the film at the backburner.
The third part of this franchise seems like a great idea and there have been talks about it since years. In fact, in 2015, producer Firoz Nadiadwala had begun shooting for Hera Pheri 3 but without its two lead actors, Akshay Kumar and Suniel Shetty. Instead, John Abraham and Abhishek Bachchan had stepped in along with Neha Sharma while the third lead, Paresh Rawal, was retained for part 3 as well. Due to financial problems, it got shelved during the shooting stage itself.
The makers had plans to embark with something interesting this day, however, things are on the backburners. As per reports, there were some changes in the film as the makers had come up with a new star cast roping in John Abraham and Abhishek Bachchan replacing Akshay Kumar and Sunil Shetty respectively, while Paresh Rawal will remain as the third lead. However, as the makers are busy with other ventures and there is not enough finance to roll out this film, things are on hold for the third of HP franchise.
