After a nine-year break, Bollywood star Imran Khan, known for his role in “Jaane Tu… Ya Jaane Na,” is set to make a grand comeback with a film backed by his uncle Aamir Khan’s production house. According to a report by Peeping Moon, Imran will be seen in a comedy film titled “Happy Patel” for his comeback. The film, produced by Aamir Khan Productions, promises to be a hilarious ride set in a familiar yet refreshing world, reminiscent of Imran’s previous works. Shooting has already begun in Goa. The film will also mark the directorial debut of comedian-actor Vir Das, who previously co-starred with Imran in “Delhi Belly” in 2011.
In a previous interview with Vogue India, Imran Khan candidly shared the reasons for his break from acting. He explained how he hit a low point in 2016 and felt broken inside. Despite financial stability, he lacked the passion and excitement for his career. Becoming a father made him realize the importance of being the best version of himself for his daughter. Imran decided to prioritize his personal growth and well-being, stepping away from being just an actor.
Imran Khan has been recognized for his roles in movies like “Jaane Tu… Ya Jaane Na,” “Delhi Belly,” “Luck,” “Mere Brother Ki Dulhan,” “I Hate Luv Storys,” and “Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu.” His last on-screen appearance was in “Katti Batti” alongside Kangana Ranaut in 2015. Three years later, he directed the short film “Mission Mars: Keep Walking India.”
Vir Das, renowned for his role in the successful 2011 black comedy “Delhi Belly,” is taking a leap into the director’s seat for the first time, marking a new chapter in his career after 17 years in acting. While he has previously worked as a director and showrunner for an unreleased web series, this upcoming film will serve as his debut in directing a feature film.
