Ira Khan took to Instagram to share a bunch of photos from her kelvan ceremony, a traditional Marathi pre-wedding ritual. Both her and Nupur’s family members attended the event, along with some of Ira’s friends.
For the special occasion, Ira wore a saree with a Peshwai nath (a traditional Maharashtrian-style nose ring). Nupur opted for a traditional kurta and dhoti.
In the first photo, Ira Khan is candidly looking at Nupur Shikhare, who is about to feed her with a spoon. A plate full of food, surrounded by flowers and candles, is also visible. This is followed by a short video of Ira feeding Nupur. She speaks in Marathi before feeding him, and everyone in the room cheers.
After the kelvan ceremony, Ira Khan shared several group photos of herself and Nupur Shikhare with their guests, including their friends Mithila Palkar and Zayn Marie Khan, and Reena Dutta in a red saree. She added only emojis to her caption. Rhea Chakraborty commented “cute,” and Richa Chadha and Mithila also reacted to the post with love emojis.

Ira and Nupur got engaged last year and hosted a party for their family and friends in Mumbai. Aamir Khan previously revealed that the wedding will take place on January 3, 2024. In an interview with News18, Aamir said, “Ira is getting married on January 3. The boy she has chosen is — waise toh pet name unka naam Popeye hai (his pet name is Popeye) — he is a trainer, he has arms like Popeye but his name is Nupur.
