Jawan” Box Office Day 1 Forecast: The SRK Much-Anticipated Film Poised to Debut in the 60-70 Crores Range This Thursday
Get ready to start sorting your record books! The box office numbers for Jawan, which releases on September 7, 2023, will be compiled on Friday morning. And it won’t be easy, because there are many films that have enjoyed a record-breaking run at the box office lately. The latest example is Gadar 2, which starred Sunny Deol and released on May 20, 2023. The film had a phenomenal opening weekend, grossing over ₹100 crore (US$12.3 million) worldwide. It also had a strong second week, grossing over ₹150 crore (US$18.4 million).
Gadar 2 still had a reference point in the form of Pathaan, which released a week earlier. However, the two films ran almost parallel to each other, and neither one seemed to cannibalize the other’s audience. The success of Gadar 2 has raised expectations for Jawan, which is also a big-budget action film starring Shah Rukh Khan. Jawan is directed by Atlee, who is known for his stylish action films. The film also stars Nayanthara, Vijay Sethupathi, and Sanya Malhotra.
It remains to be seen whether Jawan can break the record set by Gadar 2. However, one thing is for sure: the box office numbers for Jawan will be closely watched by everyone in the industry. However, what is about to happen is something else entirely, something truly phenomenal, and something incredibly staggering. Jawan will be released in just two days, and it will not only break all the records that Pathaan first set and then Gadar 2 carried forward; it will do something unthinkable and set the kind of records that would be unimaginable and, when displayed, unbelievable.
However, the way Jawan is trending right now, the all-time opening day record set by Pathaan, ₹57 crores, is about to be broken. Back then, the southern versions of the film contributed just ₹2 crores on the opening day, while the Hindi version stood at ₹55 crores. Jawan is set to cross ₹60 crores in its Hindi version alone, quite comfortably. In fact, it wouldn’t be surprising if the film even touches the elusive ₹70 crores mark on its opening day, and that’s just the Hindi version!
