And it won’t be easy, because there are many films that have enjoyed a record-breaking run at the box office lately. The latest example is Gadar 2, which starred Sunny Deol and released on May 20, 2023. The film had a phenomenal opening weekend, grossing over ₹100 crore (US$12.3 million) worldwide. Back then, the southern versions of the film contributed just ₹2 crores on the opening day, while the Hindi version stood at ₹55 crores. Jawan is set to cross ₹60 crores in its Hindi version alone, quite comfortably. In fact, it wouldn’t be surprising if the film even touches the elusive ₹70 crores mark on its opening day, and that’s just the Hindi version!
