Bhatt launched her own production company, Eternal Sunshine Productions, in early 2019. Her first film as a producer was Darlings, which released in 2022 and also stars Vijay Varma and Shefali Shah in the lead.
In an interview, Bhatt said that she wants to produce films that are “relatable, entertaining, and thought-provoking.” She added, “I want to tell stories that stay with people long after they’ve seen the film.” Bhatt’s decision to turn producer is a welcome one. She is one of the most popular and talented actresses in Bollywood, and her production company has the potential to produce high-quality films that resonate with audiences.

She is now excited to launch her second production, Jigra, which she describes as a “beautiful story of courage, passion and determination.”
Bhatt said she hopes to consistently support compelling narratives that are authentic and enduringly timeless. She also wants to work with brilliant creative minds to bring these stories to life. Jigra is directed by Vasan Bala and is slated to release on September 27, 2024. The film is produced by Karan Johar, Apoorva Mehta, Alia Bhatt, and Somen Mishra.
