Kangana Ranaut’s Response to Criticism: ‘If Not Me, Then Who?’ Amid Backlash Over Flops and Self-Comparison to Amitabh Bachchan
Kangana Ranaut recently faced heavy criticism for her speech asserting that she receives the utmost respect in the industry, after Amitabh Bachchan. This video clip of her making ‘high claims’ about her stardom in Bollywood led to netizens slamming the actress, with many remarking on her string of 15 consecutive flops. In response, Kangana took to her social media to question the users, asking, ‘if not her, then whom?’ It’s worth noting that Kangana is currently immersed in her electoral campaign as the BJP candidate from the Mandi constituency in her hometown Himachal Pradesh. In a video from her campaign speech, which circulated online, Kangana expressed,
“The entire nation is surprised that, no matter whether I go to Rajasthan, West Bengal, Delhi, or Manipur, I feel like I receive so much love and respect. After Amitabh Bachchan, if there is someone in the industry who receives so much respect, then it is me.” Her speech caused an uproar on social media, with many taking to the platform to criticize the actress for her statement. One user claimed, “Peak level of self-obsession,” while another added, “After giving flops over flops, Kangana Ranaut compares herself with Amitabh Bachchan. This is the biggest insult to Amitabh Bachchan.”
In response to the backlash, Kangana posted on her Instagram story, emphasizing, “I mentioned Bharat and its various states where I receive overwhelming love and reception as an artist for my art and my integrity as a nationalist. I have a question for those who have an objection, if not me after Big B, who gets the most amount of love and respect from Hindi films in Bharat? Khans? Kapoors? Who??? Can I also know please, I would correct myself.” Check the post going viral on the social media, have a look as under:
