Satte Pe Satta Remake: The Makers Drops the Plan to Make its Remake
The Big B starrer film Satte Pe Satta remained the blockbuster film in the early days when it was released in the early eighties. The film starring Amitabh Bachchan and Hema Malini has remained a cult film in B Town and people still love to watch it. The Raj N Sippy’s film was supposed to be made by Farah Khan. For the lady it was an ambitious plan but now things did not work for her and they have officially shelved the film.
Yes, you heard it right, the lady filmmaker was supposed to have Hrithik Roshan in the leading role but he kept things on hold without saying a clear yes or no. He then opted out, keeping things in suspense for a few months. This apparently ditched the remake of the film after Agrneepath also facing similar issues. Later Farah approached Akshay Kumar but it did not work. She then approached SRK but he also came up with his polite and firm no.
So, she was left with no decent option making Farah Khan say no to the lady filmmaker about the film. Also, the other reason for shelving the film was the copyright rules, which seems difficult for anyone and everyone getting an unauthorized remake. Back in the year 1982 we saw Sippy making an unofficial remake of Stanley Donen’s film Seven Brides For Seven Brothers. However, in the modern days, the rules on Copyright have turned tough allowing the makers to shelve the venture. Stay tuned for more on B Town only with us.
