Streaming Giant Netflix Bends Down to apologize for a Controversial French Movie
The streaming giant seems to be in problem as Netflix received a petition demanding to remove the controversial French movie Cuties from its list. Thousands have signed the petition and forced the streaming giant to get rid of the same from the relay list. The film is about a 11 year old rebel and her family who are seen coming up with a free spirited dance to launch a campaign against making young girls sensational in a negative way. The film titled as Cuties was originally known as Mignonnes and it deals with the online campaign.
The film was also screened at the Sundance Film Festival and it has bagged the jury award for directing. However, when it came on Netflix, the streaming giant portrayed the film with the four preteen stars posing with their bare legs and midriffs. The users called it disgusting, and upsetting apart from calling it sick. Soon Netflix was seen giving its apology for the way it has been promoting the film. However, it has no plans to scrap the movie, which is all set to release on Sept. 9.

We’re deeply sorry for the inappropriate artwork that we used for Mignonnes/Cuties. It was not OK, nor was it representative of this French film which won an award at Sundance. We’ve now updated the pictures and description.
