Tandav: UP Police Records Statement in Mumbai
The UP Police seems to be in Mumbai and they issued summons to record statements on the makers of the web series Tandav for the case of hurting religious sentiments as filed in Lucknow last week. A four member Police team from UP has pasted a notice at the director Ali Abbas Zafar’s residence along with the producer Himanshu Mehra and Gaurav Solanki claimed the sources. The summons brought the director to the UP Police where his statement was recorded. However, the police team failed to record the statement of the Amazon Prime officials.
Thanks to the transit anticipatory bail by the Bombay High Court, they were not able to release the same. The sources claimed that the anticipatory bail was done so that the Amazon officials can approach the court for the necessary action against them. They even claim that they have deleted the scenes that created havoc in the media. They also claimed that it is an act of fiction and the makers have even issued a public apology so there is no reason why the issue is stretched out of proportion.
On the other side, the state government has assured that they will investigate the issue and act as per the law of land. The ruling party members from UP have been alleging that the State Government in Mumbai often supports hence they tweeted that hope the CM Mr. Uddhav Thackeray will not come to their rescue. It seems that the issue is becoming too political to handle with too many noses being poked by various political parties. The opposition claims that the ruling party is just deflecting the issues from the main reason.
