Tiger 3: Sky-High Expectations as Salman Khan and Emraan Hashmi Face Off in Bhai’s Franchise Return After 6 Years
The only good thing that came out of the disappointing Friday of watching Ganapath and Yaariyan 2 was the chance to watch the Tiger 3 trailer on the big screen. And it screams mass entertainer!
Respecting the legacy set by Kabir Khan in 2012’s Ek Tha Tiger, Yash Raj Films surprised big time when they chose Ali Abbas Zafar to helm Tiger Zinda Hai. Zafar had already delivered a blockbuster with Sultan, and he did not disappoint with Tiger Zinda Hai. The film was a huge hit at the box office, and it cemented Salman Khan’s status as one of the biggest stars in Bollywood.
Now, we see another filmmaker coming with Tiger 3, and the trailer promises another action-packed and entertaining film. Khan is back as Tiger, Katrina Kaif is back as Zoya, and Emraan Hashmi is the new villain. The trailer has some stunning visuals and some high-octane action sequences. It also has a lot of Salman Khan swag, which is sure to please his fans.
On the other hand, Tiger Zinda Hai was a solid 4/5 film and a blockbuster at the box office. It is an A-tier commercial potboiler, up there with films like Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan, Kamal Haasan’s Vikram, and Allu Arjun’s Pushpa. It is a very entertaining film and a rare case of part 2 being better than part 1.
It is interesting to consider the fact that Tiger 3 director Maneesh Sharma is jumping from delivering a polar-opposite subject with Shah Rukh Khan in Fan to a film that is touted to bring Blockbuster Khan back on track.
Fan was a critically acclaimed film, but it was not a commercial success. It was a dark and psychological thriller, which is very different from the action-packed and entertaining genre of Tiger 3.
Overall, the Tiger 3 trailer is a very promising one. It suggests that the film will be a mass entertainer, and it is sure to be a hit with audiences. I can’t wait to see it!
