Who is Aisha Sultana ? The lady facing Sedition Charges in her recent bio-weapon’ remark
Of late, there has been a lot of hue and cry about saving the island – Lakshadweep. It is a union territory comprising 36 different islands to make one UTs of India. The dispute was mostly on the issues of disturbing the biodiversity of the island UT after a couple of changes were brought in the name of a few laws by the recently appointed administrator – Praful B Patel by the president of India. There has been agitations going around for a couple of weeks for saving the island.
Amidst all this, we hear the name of the model turned actress and filmmaker Aisha Sultana. She hails from one of the islands of Lakshadweep called Chatiath and has been a known face in fourth Indian films. She has given several movies in the Malayalam film industry as a filmmaker. In one of the debates on South Indian TV channels she was seen saying that the government has deployed bio-weapon that have brought too many cases of Covid on the island. This led the local political party leader to file an FIR against the lady, which was eventually framed in the sedition charges.
