Fukrey 3 Movie Review: A Hilarious Hat-Trick with a Dash of Political Satire

Fukrey 3 Movie Review: Rating: ★★★★☆

“Fukrey 3” is back with its signature madness, laughter, and a newfound political twist. Director Mrigdeep Singh Lamba, along with the ensemble cast, once again takes us on a riotous journey into the world of Hunny (Pulkit Samrat), Choocha (Varun Sharma), Laali (Manjot Singh), Pandit Ji (Pankaj Tripathi), and the formidable Bhooli Punjaban (Richa Chadha).

Plot and Humor:

This time, the Fukras are trading in their bizarre schemes for a political arena. The gang’s decision to enter an election results from a “Deja-Chu” moment, setting the stage for a cat-and-mouse battle with Bhooli Punjaban and other contenders for power. The film’s storyline is where it truly shines, blending humor and drama seamlessly. The jokes are sharp, and the one-liners keep the audience in splits throughout. It’s a testament to the film’s writing that it takes a wild concept and makes it work.

Highlights:

Varun Sharma as Choocha deserves special mention. He is a laugh riot, and his comic timing is impeccable. Pulkit Samrat’s Hunny provides the perfect foil to Choocha’s eccentricity, while Pankaj Tripathi, once again as Pandit Ji, delivers a memorable performance, especially when trying to speak in English.

The film’s standout sequences include the uproarious introduction at a TV shop, the airplane antics, and a sidesplitting water park climax. The situational comedy, coupled with witty dialogues, elevates “Fukrey 3” beyond a mere slapstick comedy.

Drawbacks:

One area where the film falls short is its music. Unlike its predecessors, “Fukrey 3” lacks memorable songs that could have added to its charm. Additionally, the film’s runtime of 2 hours and 30 minutes feels a tad too long for a comedy. Some scenes could have been trimmed to maintain a brisk pace.

Final Verdict:

“Fukrey 3” is a hilarious hat-trick for the franchise, blending humor, quirky characters, and a dash of political satire. Varun Sharma’s Choocha steals the show, but the entire Fukra gang, including Pulkit Samrat and Pankaj Tripathi, contributes to the film’s comedic brilliance. While it could benefit from tighter editing and a better soundtrack, “Fukrey 3” delivers on its promise of providing ample laughs. It’s a must-watch for fans of the series and anyone in need of a good dose of comedy with a political twist.
