Tripti Dimri, hailing from the scenic mountains of Garhwal in the northern Indian state of Uttarakhand, was born to Meenakshi and Dinesh Dimri. Raised with Hindu values, Dimri’s parents have been a constant source of support throughout her career.

Her educational journey began at Delhi Public School, Firozabad, and she went on to graduate in psychology from Sri Aurobindo College. Following her academic pursuits, Dimri decided to further hone her skills in acting at the prestigious Film and Television Institute of India, Pune.
Dimri marked her entry into the film industry with Shreyas Talpade’s directorial debut, the 2017 comedy “Poster Boys,” starring Sunny Deol, Bobby Deol, and Talpade. Although her performance was acknowledged, it was in her next venture, the 2018 romantic drama “Laila Majnu,” opposite Avinash Tiwary, that she truly showcased her acting prowess. Critics praised her for infusing her character with an edge that made the constant flirtations with danger believable.
After a brief hiatus, Dimri achieved a breakthrough with her role as the protagonist in Anvita Dutt’s 2020 supernatural drama “Bulbbul.” Produced by Anushka Sharma, the film garnered positive reviews, with critics applauding Dimri’s performance, describing her as a “stunner who speaks volumes with her eyes.” Her outstanding portrayal earned her the Best Actor award at the Filmfare OTT Awards.
In 2022, Dimri reunited with Dutt for the critically acclaimed film “Qala,” where she played the title role of a young singer navigating personal relationships alongside her career. Despite some critiques of the character being one-note, Dimri’s performance received praise for her ability to venture into different genres.
Furthering her versatility, Dimri took on a brief yet impactful role in the top-grossing action thriller “Animal” (2023), starring Ranbir Kapoor. Her appearance was lauded as “a treat to look out for,” marking a significant milestone in her career and gaining her wider recognition.
